The Haunted Sea
Philip Hoare, author of Leviathan, The Sea Inside, and RISINGTIDEFALLINGSTAR, explores how we are all haunted by the notion of the sea, a queer place in which identities, species, and culture swirl and change. Inspired by Haroon Mirza's shape-shifting forms and connexions, and with cultural references to Oscar Wilde, Wilfred Owen, Virginia Woolf and Sylvia Plath, he conjures up a personal response to the equivocal, enigmatic lure of the deep.
